If you know ahead of time that you will be purchasing a new computer or taking a computer in for service, you can deauthorize your copy of Finale allowing you to install it on a the new back-up computer yourself without having to call MakeMusic to reset the authorization for you.

Here is how:

• Make sure you have an active internet connection - this is required to connect to the MakeMusic authorization servers.
• Go up to your Help Menu and select Deauthorize Finale - this will bring up a generic message about deauthorizing. Click OK.
• You can reauthorize under the same menu,  Help >> Authorize Finale.
