Preventing Unpredictable Fermata Playback

I am usually a pretty big fan of Human Playback.  It really does add some great nuance for very little work, percussion playback not withstanding.  One area that needs some clarification on the part of the programmer is how HP handles fermatas.  The real issue arises in a document that has fermatas that are not placed on the cadence.   There are a series of settings that affect Human Playback, but are not contained in the Human Playback Settins Window.  And there is one setting in particular that affects how Human Playback performs, or doesn’t perform, fermatas.

Just pop your Finale 2008 disc in your drive, and uncheck everything but Finale. Install.

If this fails, try uninstalling and reinstalling Finale completely and then reapplying the update.

Controlling Page Size

This would seem like a fairly straight forward topic, but I actually receive a lot of questions about setting the actual on screen page size within Finale.  The reason there is such confusion is that there are three different areas within the Finale program that can control page size - well, three different areas that seem like they should control page size.

Finale 2008 - B Update **UPDATED**

It appears that an update was released for the Mac only, but was taken down from the website.

I called into tech support and they verified that they had found an issue with the installer and removed the update immediately to fix the issue.
