Stop the User Manual from Resizing Your Browser
By staff on Nov 13, 2007 in Finale News
I have found that having the user manual bookmarked on my browser is a very effective way to quickly access the user manual, especially since I can (and usually do) have a browser open on my second monitor. The problem is that user manual defaults to a size that is much smaller than I would like.
Here are the directions for changing the user manual settings to keep your desired browser size.
- Find the Skin.xml file
- On Windows: C:\Program Files\Finale 2008\Help Files\Data\Skinmain\Skin.xml
- On Mac: Mac HD: Applications\Finale 2008\Help Files\Data\Skinmain\Skin.xml
- Open the file in a text editor. (Text on Windows, TextEdit on Mac)
- The second line of this file should start with “CatapultSkin”. At the end of the line it says:
UseBrowserDefaultSize=”False”. If your text editor wraps long lines for display,
this may look like it’s a couple of lines down. - Change the False to True and save the file.
